Stop At: Untertorbrücke, Bern, Switzerland

The Untertor Bridge is the oldest access to the city from the east and at the same time one of the oldest stone bridges in Switzerland. The bridge was created between 1461 and 1486

Stop At: Matte, Wasserwerkgasse, Bern 3000 Switzerland

The mat is the oldest industrial quarter of the city of Bern. We visit the old ship landing stage, see the “birthplace” of Swiss chocolate and the hydroelectric power plant with its impressive lock. Finally, we reach the former Rotlichviertel of the city.

Over the Bubenbergrain we climb up to the city and enter it through one of the oldest city gates – the Bubenbergtor.

The Erlacherhof is one of the most powerful mansions in the city and is today the seat of the mayor. The Erlacherhof was already the headquarters of the French, a school for the children from the mat and the seat of the seven federal councilors.

With the Justizia on the pedestal this is one of the most beautiful fountains in the city.

A church so inconspicuous that even many Bernese do not know that there is a church in this place. This church today serves various religions. But she was already a hospital and a stable and warehouse.

Not the alley is worth seeing, but the oldest building in the city. A tower to a well for drinking water – the Lenbrunnen built around 1950. Today the tower is within the State Chancellery and can only be visited during office hours.

The Bern Cathedral is the largest gothic church with the highest church tower in Switzerland. Very well known is the figurative depiction of the last judgment on the west portal.

The most famous and most visited attraction in Bern. Both the hourly clock game and the astronomical clock inspire thousands of tourists each year.

Stop At: Prison Tower (Kafigturm), Marktgasse 67, Bern 3003 Switzerland

The cage tower was after the first city expansion in the 13th century, first city gate, later after the renewed city expansion, this was the cage tower.

Bern has been the political capital since 1848 and since 1902 the parliament building with its striking dome has stood.
