Starting in Lucerne and ending in Zurich, experience the breathtaking Swiss Alps on this whirlwind 4-day adventure. Explore the picturesque mountain towns of Interlaken and Zermatt, sightsee in urban Geneva and Bern, and relish the countryside scenery in Gruyères, birthplace of Gruyère cheese. Alpine views abound: ride a panoramic cable car to the snowy summit of Mt Titlis and admire Zermatt’s iconic Matterhorn mountain, the inspiration behind the Disneyland theme ride. Enjoy a balance of guided tours with free time to explore independently. Transport, overnight accommodation, breakfast and one dinner are also included.
Itinerary
Day 1: Lucerne – Engelberg – Mt. Titlis – Interlaken
Pass By: Schwanenplatz, Lucerne 6004 Switzerland
Your trip departs from central Lucerne. Relax on the 40-minute drive south to the mountain resort town Engelberg. Here, board a cable car for a panoramic ride up Mt Titlis.
Pass By: Mount Titlis, Poststrasse 3 Talstation, Engelberg 6390 Switzerland
Enjoy incredible aerial views on your way to the base station, and then transfer to the amazing TITLIS ROTAIR gondola, which rotates its way to the snow-capped summit.
Pass By: Brienz, Brienz, Bernese Oberland, Canton of Bern
Travel through the beautiful Bernese Oberland in the afternoon, stopping in the village of Brienz, a center of excellence for woodcarving. Finish your day in the scenic resort town of Interlaken, straddling Lake Thun and Lake Brienz at the base of the towering Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks.

Day 2: Interlaken – Bern – Gruyères – Geneva

After breakfast at your hotel, head to Switzerland’s capital city, Bern, for a tour of its UNESCO World Heritage–listed Old Town.

Enjoy a stroll and some time at leisure in the beautiful Old Town of Bern and do not miss ‘Bundesplatz’
Pass By: Geneva, Geneva
Back aboard the coach, venture south past wide-open prairies and dairy farmlands, arriving finally in Gruyères, where Gruyère cheese gets its name. Admire the fairytale setting of this rural village perched on a hilltop, and tour a cheese factory to see how the delicious local specialty is made.
Enjoy a scenic drive through the Vaud region that runs along Lake Geneva, and arrive at your hotel in the early evening.

Day 3: Geneva – Montreux – Zermatt
Pass By: Geneva, Geneva
We start with a city-tour of Geneva this morning. We will show you the beautiful parks along the lake, the unique town-hall and the European seat of the United Nations. In the late morning we leave Geneva and drive to Lausanne and Montreux.
Pass By: Chateau de Chillon, avenue de Chillon 21, Veytaux 1820 Switzerland
We pass by Chillon Castle, the 13th century fortress made famous by Lord Byron’s Poem (photo stop). In the afternoon we proceed through the Valais, the valley of the river Rhone with its orchards and vineyards.
Pass By: Zermatt, Zermatt, Canton of Valais, Swiss Alps
At Täsch we will board a cogwheel train that takes us to the mountain resort of Zermatt at the foot of the mighty Matterhorn.

Day 4: Zermatt – Täsch – Airolo – Zurich
Pass By: Gornergrat, Bahnhofplatz 7 Bahnhof, Zermatt 3920 Switzerland
Spend the morning at leisure in town: shop for souvenirs, admire the quaint old farm houses or take the cogwheel train up to the snow-covered Gornergrat mountain (own expense).
Pass By: Nufenen Pass, Ulrichen Switzerland
In the afternoon, board the train to Täsch, where the bus will be waiting to take you over the breathtaking Nufenen Pass to Airolo.
Pass By: Zurich, Zurich
From Airolo you will return to Zurich by bus or train (depends on the group size). Arrival in the city center is at approx. 6.30pm.
