Enjoy an introduction to the sport of canyoning in the Swiss Alps on this half-day canyoning experience from Interlaken. Travel beneath the soaring peaks of the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger mountains to the local canyon, just a short drive from Interlaken itself. Climb into your wetsuit and safety gear, then get up close to nature as you float, leap, abseil and splash through a series of rock jumps, plunge pools and natural chutes. Enjoy personal attention from your guide on this small-group tour, limited to 13 people.
Begin your tour with a pickup from one of our designated meeting points, then meet your guiding team and head on to the canyoning base. Put on your wetsuit, helmet and other safety gear then take a scenic 10-minute drive from the base camp to the edge of the outskirts of Wilderswil, passing through the Swiss Alps beneath soaring peaks such as the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger.
On arrival, take a short walk up the hill to the entrance of the canyon and listen to a safety briefing from your guide. Learn the correct techniques to enjoy your canyoning experience to the full, then abseil 33 feet (10 meters) into the canyon. Take the plunge with the first of the day’s dips into the water.
With your wetsuit keeping you warm against the chill of the mountain water, clamber, leap and slide through the series of chutes, drops and plunge pools and enjoy your canyoning experience to the full.
Jump off 20-foot (6-meter) rock ledges into surging white-water pools before bobbing to the edge and climbing onto the next challenge. With your guides on hand throughout to ensure your safety, continue downstream to the end of the first canyon and into the second, jumping, sliding and floating along at your leisure.
At the final slide in the second canyon, lie back and let the surging water carry you down a natural channel, over a series of drops and into a deep pool of calm water below. At the end of your canyoning run, take the short walk back to the bus and take in scenic views over the canyon.
Back at base, enjoy a shower and refreshing hot drink then continue back to your drop off location, where your canyoning experience will come to an end.
