Step into the great outdoors to discover a side to Switzerland many visitors miss on this 6-hour adventure by snowshoe and sled. Travel from Interlaken, and then take a gondola ride over the cliff tops of Isenfluh to the alpine hamlet of Sulwald with a guide. Strap on your snowshoes and head into the snowy forest before a lunch of mulled wine and Swiss cheese fondue. Then, hop on a sled to whizz back down the valley and enjoy breathtaking views over the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountain peaks.

Begin your tour with a late-morning pickup from your hotel or local train station in Interlaken, Matten bei Interlaken, Unterseen, Wilderswil, Ringgenberg, Bönigen, Neuhaus, Lauterbrunnen or Iseltwald. Then, travel to the winter base by minivan to meet your guide and pick up your snowshoes. From here, take the 20-minute journey to Isenfluh to start your alpine adventure.

On arrival, enjoy a 5-minute gondola ride high over the cliff tops to the mountain hamlet of Sulwald. As you climb, take in panoramic views over the Grindlewald Valley and the soaring peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountain peaks beyond.

In Sulwald, strap into your snowshoes and set off into the woods for your 1.5- to 2-hour snowshoe hike. Stomp through the deep snow with ease, breathe in the fresh alpine air and enjoy the feeling of being close to nature. At the end, replenish lost energy with a warming mulled wine and traditional Swiss cheese fondue in a local mountain restaurant.

After lunch, jump into your sled and speed down the winding mountainside trail back to Isenfluh. During your 45-minute ride, race your friends round tight hairpin bends, pick up speed along the straights and pause along the way to take in fine views over the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

When your sled ride comes to an end, hop back inside your minivan and return to the start point where your adventure ends.
