Take on the mighty Lütschine River rapids on this 4-hour white-water rafting experience from Interlaken. Following a comprehensive safety briefing from a professional guide, battle the exhilarating class III-IV rapids down the mountains and through Interlaken valley. Then, allow your heart rate to return to normal as you bob along the calm Alpine waters to the Lake of Brienz. Drink in the breathtaking Swiss scenery and enjoy a quick swim before returning to base camp for a coffee or beer. Numbers limited to eight people per boat, ensuring a small-group experience.

Choose from a morning or afternoon departure, and then begin with a pickup from one of our designated meeting points.

On arrival at the white-water rafting base camp, hop out of your air-conditioned minivan and meet the professional guiding team. Wrestle into a wetsuit and neoprene booties, and get fitted with the rest of your gear, which includes a life jacket and a helmet. Then, climb aboard a comfortable coach and set off to Grindelwald valley, passing by fairy-tale chalets, grazing cows and the postcard-perfect Swiss landscape.

After roughly 30 minutes, arrive at the rafting start point and listen to an in-depth safety briefing before splitting off into teams of up to eight. With your small group, learn how to paddle and hold on. Then, jump into your raft and receive a final pep talk from your guide before pushing away from the bank into the glacial flow of the Lütschine River.

Prepare to get soaked as you navigate the raft through continuous class III rapids, speeding down from the mountains and out into the Interlaken valley at speeds of up to 8 mph (13 kph). Then, feel your adrenaline rush and hold on tight as you tackle thrashing currents and breaking waves in class IV rapids.

Once you’re past the rapids, sit back and take in the Alpine scenery as your rafts bobs down to the Lake of Brienz. Should you wish, take a quick dip in the lake before returning to the bus.

Back at the base camp, refresh with a hot shower then enjoy a cup of coffee or a cold beer as you sift through the professional digital photos taken of your experience.
